Real Wrexhamcelery in Gameweek 38 - a bit of a flourish, and better than last year

49 points against a weekly average of 44 meant a final position of 2,125,693 up from 2,143,773 which is an improvement on 2262976 last year. The overall points total was up from 1417 to 1665. This might well be because it was not possible this year to get a complete squad of ex-Chelsea and Wrexham players. As a result Baines was available for every game, albeit on the bench, and Evra was available until Bertrand's loan to Villa in January. On the other hand, Huth missed most of the season and Taylor was rarely picked although they were there in the squad all season.

The main contributors this week were captain Mata, Sturridge, Lukaku and Borini who all scored.

Next season will present more problems and opportunities. Ruddy, Parker, Sidwell and Duff have all been relegated. Bertrand and Moses will return to Chelsea bit it would not be a surprise to see them playing elsewhere next season.

We shall see. Maybe I need to extend the qualification to include Chelsea reserves like Jack Cork and Liam Bridcutt, although it is defenders who are in short supply.

The Winning Strategy in Gameweek 38 - a season to forget

Despite getting an above average score (46 points versus 44), the overall standing of the team dropped from 129,549 to 139,274. A pretty poor season considering the high point was week 5 when the team stood proudly at 9,213. But maybe not a bad recovery from week 16 when the depths of 763,912 were reached. those 11 weeks were pretty dismal when all choices went bad.

And it is considerably better than last year's 560905.

In value terms the team ended up worth £103.4 million. The highest value reached was £104.6 million in weeks 29 and 30. Not very good.

This week's main contributors were Baines (clean sheet), Zabaleta (clean sheet), Azpilicueta (assist), captain Toure (assist), Dzeko (assist). No goals. There was a goal bit Borini was on the bench. And it didn't help that neither  Szczesny or Speroni played in goal. The last week is always a whimsical one for managers.

The Winning Strategy for Gameweek 38

No changes. Thought about putting Barcley in for Shaw. Thought about finding a place for Borini. But decided against.

The Winning Strategy in Gameweek 37 - Big score but also a missed opportunity to be better

The team delivered a big score of 111 against an average of 62. It could have been better because having brought in Borini because he was playing 2 games I forgot to put him in the XI. That was 10 points missed.

A giant leap from 214,166 to 129,549. The highest position since 8.

Main contributors Szczesney (clean sheet), Shaw (clean sheet), Baines (assist), Zabaleta (clean sheet and assist), Barcley (goal), Sterling (assist), captain Toure (goal and 2 assists), Suarez (goal) and Dzeko (4 goals)

Johnson and Lallana were the only two who didn't score highly.

One game to go.

Real Wrexhamcelery in Gameweek 37 - squad looking tired

The end of a long season

Major contributors were Allen, Walters, Sturridge, Lukaku, Borini a goal each.

Missed out on a clean sheet from Ruddy.

The Winning Strategy for Gameweek 37

To maximise the number of players with two games this week, Naismith is out and Borini (could have been Welbeck) is in.

Working on the assumption that Liverpool and Man City will both do well, there are 3 from each which means that I'm taking a risk with putting Baines on the bench. He is joined by Barclay and Sidwell.

Toure remains captain.
