Real Wrexhamcelery in Gameweek 36 - pleasingly above average

56 points against an average of 44. Up from 2,162,252 to 2,123,173.

Main contributors were captain Mata (2 goals), Foster (clean sheet), and Borini (goal and assist).

The Winning Strategy in Gameweek 36 - well above average

65 points against the weekly average of 44 tells a story, but could be better. A climb from 270,411 to 214,166 is welcome, but there is a long way to go and not much time. The week 5 position of 9,213 seems a long way away.

The star performer was the rookie, captain Toure (goal and assist). Other significant contributions from Szczesney (clean sheet), Zabaleta (clean sheet), and rookie Dzecko (goal). Missed out on a clean sheet for Azpiliqueta. Should have had more faith.

There needs to be a transfer to get someone from Man Utd, Hull, Villa, WBA or Sunderland in because they have extra games next week. Those under threat are Barclay, Naismith, and Sidwell.

Thw Inning Strategy for Gameweek 36

Quite a few changes reflecting the proximity of the end of the season and those teams, specifically Man City that have an extra game to play.

Out go the injured Hazard who is unlikely to play for Chelsea against Liverpool and in comes Yaya Toure. Out goes the misfiring Adebayor who is looking a bit bored as is his wont, and in comes Edin Dzeko. It was a toss up between Dzeko and Negredo but Dzeko is a bit cheaper which gives a bit of flexibility for the last two weekends, and Negredo seems to have lost his way.

Line up wise, Szczesny replaces Speroni. Azpilicueta drops to the bench (much as I am loathe to admit the probability that Chelsea will concede against Liverpool) with Johnson going the other way. And Sterling comes off the bench for Naismith.

Toure is captain.

Real Wrexhamcelery for Gameweek 36

No changes except to make Mata the captain and to swap Foster in and Ruddy out for goalkeeper.

Sturridge is doubtful but I'd rather take that chance than bring in Carlton Cole.

Real Wrexhamcelery in gameweek 35 - Carelessness almost broke even.

51 points against a weekly average of 52 after failing to review the team in midweek. Not a bad outcome. And up from 2,179,747 to 2,162,252.

Main contributors were interloper Baines (goal and clean sheet), Bertrand (clean sheet), Sidwell (goal), Borini (goal) and captain Lukaku (assist).

The Winning Strategy in Gameweek 35 - Carelessness led to a massive result

I forgot to review my team and by sheer chance that tactic delivered 90 points against a weekly average of 52. The result was a leap from 359,554 to 270,411 which is the highest position since week 13.

Big contributors captain Baines (goal and clean sheet), Speroni (clean sheet), Zabaleta (goal), Shaw (clean sheet), Sterling (2 goals and an assist), Suarez (goal).

Missed out on a goal from Sidwell who stayed on the bench.

And 2 transfers to use next week. Adebayor, Naismith, Hazard all candidates.

Real wrexhamcelery in gameweek 34 below par

Only 37 points against a weekly average 42. A drop from 2,176,121 to 2,179,747 overall, which is not that bad a fall.

No outstanding performers except the interloper Baines (a clean sheet and an assist) and Sidwell (assist).

As usual not much scope for change.

The Winning Strategy in gameweek 34 well above average

68 points against a weekly average of 42 is a fine performance, especially considering that Adebayor and Zabaleta scored zero points (in Zabeleta's case despite playing 2 games). The choice of Speroni (1 clean sheet in two games) ahead of Szczesny proved inspired and he may keep his place with Tony Pulis having drastically improved the Palace defence. Other major contributors were captain Baines (1 clean sheet and 1 assist in 2 games), Azpilicueta (clean sheet), Barclay (1 assist in 2 games), Sterling (1 goal), and Naismith (1 goal in 2 games). Missed out on an assist from Sidwell who stayed on the bench but also missed the negative point that Johnson would have scored.

All this means a leap to the highest overall position since week 13. 426,779 up to 359,554.

Adebayor is under serious consideration for replacement.

The Winning Strategy for Gameweek 34

First the transfer. Rodriguez is out for the season which is a great shame because at £6.5 million he was terrific value. The main attribute for his replacement is that he needs to have 2 games this week. That limits it to Everton, Palace, Sunderland or Man City. None of the playing City strikers can be bought for £6.4 (note the difference in price). The highest scoring Palace striker for that money is Chamakh! For Sunderland it's Borini! But Everton provides an interesting and remarkably cheap option of Naismith, and so he's in.

For team selection, in order to maximise the players with 2 games, Sterling drops to the bench and is replaced by Naismith. In defence Shaw replaces Johnson because with Cardiff as opposition there is more prospect of a clean sheet than there is for playing Man City. Sidwell remains on the bench.

The captain needs to be playing two games and Baines offers the best prospect of points. Others playing 2 games are Zabaleta, Barkley, and Speroni who comes in for Szczesny in goal.

Real Wrexhamcelery for Gameweek 34

One transfer this week. The non-playing Joe Cole is replaced by the returning Jon Walters. Ideally the replacement would have been a player from one of the teams that is playing twice this week. But as no one from those teams fits the criteria for this team, i.e. either ex-Chelsea or ex-Wrexham, it is Walters.

Parker drops to the bench.

The choice of captain is influenced by the players taking part in 2 games. Lukaku has two games against Sunderland and Palace while Sturridge has 1 against Man City. No brainer.

The only other players with 2 games are Borini and the interloper Baines.

Ruddy stays in goal as he is up against Fulham as opposed to Spurs for Foster.

The Winning Strategy in gameweek 33 - a drop down the table despite being above average

51 points against a weekly average of 43 does not prevent a fall of 268 places from 426,511 to 426,779.

Main contributors were Adebayor (2 goals), captain Suarez (1 assist), Baines (clean sheet), Azpilicueta (clean sheet). Annoyingly Speroni would have had a clean sheet but who would play him ahead of Szczesny? The way Aresenal are playing though...

The injury to Rodriguez will force a transfer in attack. It needs to be someone who is playing 2 games this week.

Real Wrexhamcelery in gameweek 33 - a little bit ahead of average

50 points against a weekly average of 43. Major contributions from Mata (2 goals and an assist - at last some end product), Lukaku (1 goal and 1 assist), and the interloper Baines (clean sheet). The rest were disappointing especially captain Sturridge who seems to have gone right off the boil. Annoyingly I missed out on a clean sheet for Foster who was on the bench.

A climb from 2,218,268 to 2,176,121. Best position since week 16.

Next week there are some teams with 2 games so that will influence any transfer moves.

The Winning Strategy for Gameweek 33

With Sissoko, who has not been a success, injured, he leaves the squad to make way for the return of Raheem Sterling. I can't remember why I transferred Sterling out, but now he is back. Meanwhile, every time I sign Ross Barkley he seems to get injured and this week he is doubtful! Nevertheless I am taking a chance with him in the starting XI. Missing out is Rodriguez who despite scoring twice last week is dropped to the bench because this week Southampton are up against Man City. And that is why Shaw joins him. The third sub is Sidwell.

Suarez is captain.

Real Wrexhamcelery for Gameweek 33

Scott Parker returns to the squad in place of Scott Sinclair. It was a toss up between Sinclair and Joe Cole as to who dropped out as neither seems to play. The other options were Duff (injured) and Moses (even less likely to play for Liverpool).

Joe Cole is on the bench with the injured Huth and the interloper Baines.

In goal, Rudd and Foster are playing eachother. There is nothing about either the WBA or Norwich attack that suggests that either keeper will concede. I'll stick with Ruddy as Norwich are at home.

Sturridge is captain as Liverpool play West Ham.

The Winning Strategy in Gameweek 32 much better

69 points against a weekly average of 49. A climb from 484,019 to 426,511.

Main contributors were Rodriguez (2 goals), Suarez (goal and assist), Lallana (goal and assist), Shaw (clean sheet), Johnson (clean sheet and assist), and captain Baines (assist).

Real Wrexhamcelery in Gameweek 32 almost average

43 points against an average of 46 for the week. Actually managed to climb from 2,233,830 to 2,218,268 overall.

Main contributors were Johnson (clean sheet and an assist) and Mata (goal and an assist) and interloper Baines (assist) and Sidwell (assist). Otherwise disappointing.
